About Krewe

Stirling Barrett started Krewe in New Orleans in 2013. The name comes from the krewes that put on the city’s Mardi Gras parades, and the frames carry a lot of that colour and character.

Krewe designs its sunglasses and optical frames in New Orleans, using plant-based acetates and metal.

Small-batch frames

Krewe makes its frames in small runs, and every pair goes through the company’s own 100-point inspection before it ships.

Many Krewe sunglasses come with polarized lenses, and a lot of their sun frames can also be made with your prescription.

Why buy Krewe at Hanley’s

Krewe makes a lot of its frames in several acetate colours, and it’s hard to tell from a photo which one will suit you. Come in and try a few, and we’ll help you find the one that works with your face and your prescription.

Our licensed opticians fit every frame, and we make your single vision and progressive lenses in our own lab. If your prescription needs checked, Dr. Kristyn Pozzer can see you for an eye exam.

When new frames come in, we often reach out to clients we think they’d suit. Seen a Krewe frame online? Ask us if we have it.
